WEAR

Check your mailbox or contact your Rotator to pick up your item. Don't worry, you'll have at least one week with your rental so we encourage you to book for the full length. Style it and tag us in your best fit checks! #inmyrotate

RETURN & REPEAT

Don’t worry about laundry! Once your rental date is up, use the QR code at USPS to use the prepaid label to send back or drop off your items locally. Have any feedback? Let us know!

LISTING

UPLOAD

You can list anything in your closet. You only need a photo, the retail price, size, and an accurate description! Want to dry clean your item? Simply add it in to your listing. We want to see you in the item so any old Instagram snaps are perfect. Mirror selfies, flat lays, or the item on a hanger work as well.

EXCHANGE

Using our prepaid label, pack up and ship your items to the renter before the designated ship date. We encourage you to re-use and recycle any old packaging (small boxes, poly mailers, etc.). If you have a local pick up order, set a convenient location for you and the renter to coordinate their rental.

EARN

Receive your earnings through your account once the renter has returned the item. You earn up to 80% of your listing price everytime!

Cash out via direct deposit whenever you like! On average, our Rotators have earned hundreds each month renting out their closets.

How can I rent?

Pick a number of stylish pieces from anyone's closet(s). Choose how long you would like to rent the item(s) for (rental period).

Select the date you wish to start your rental on. If you’re renting for an event, we recommend placing your rental AT LEAST a week before to give you time to try on the item and account for any shipping delays. For local pick-up, the renter will start a conversation via email to help complete this exchange on or before your rental start date. Local pick up is great for last minute rentals.

Every shipped rental will be provided a return label via email. Return your items either on or before the rental end date to avoid late fees. Be located in the US

How long can I rent for?

With Rotate’s flexible rental periods, you can rent an item for up to 6 weeks. Everyone has a 1-week minimum rental period for pricing, so your rental will be the same if you rent for one day or seven days. If you wish to rent for longer than 6 weeks, you can email Rotate to inquire.

How long does shipping take?

Shipping typically takes 2-5 days. The item is shipped before your rental start date to insure it arrives on time. If you need your rental early, make sure to email Rotate.

What happens if I damage my rental?

If you severely damage the item, or as determined by Rotate, you will be responsible for paying the market value of the item. If it can be dry cleaned, the Rotator will submit the cost to clean for you to pay.

Can I try on the rental before I rent it?

It is a case-by-case basis depending on the closet. If you are located in the same city as a closet you want to rent an item from, reach out to Rotate.

What wear condition can I expect my rental to be in?

All rentals have a retail price of over $50. Majority are new or are in barely worn condition. If you have any issues with the quality of the rental please reach out to Rotate.

What if I need a longer rental period?

If you need to make any changes to your rental please reach out to Rotate. We are happy to coordinate longer periods of rentals by request.

Is there a limit to how many items I can rent?

No! The limit does not exist. Unlike other rental services, Rotate does not limit how many rentals you can have in your closet at a time. Currently, you can only checkout one item at a time, but can rent as many items as you want. As long as they are returned on time, there is no issue renting multiple pieces from multiple closets!

What is local pick-up?

Local pick-up allows nearby renters to coordinate a pickup of their rental. It is more environmentally friendly and a great way to meet new peers! It is also great for last minute outfit needs. You can get your item locally within 24 hours with our new booking system.

How does local pick-up work?

Local pick-up is only available for same city rentals. Rotate will start an email conversation between you and the renter for both the exchange and return of the items.

What happens if my rental doesn’t arrive on time?

If you receive the rental late but are still able to wear it, you will receive money back based on how many days late the item was. If you are unable to wear your rental or never receive it, you will be completely refunded.

How does cleaning work?

The renter should not clean the garment. WE REPEAT, the renter should not clean the garment. The Rotator is responsible for cleaning their own clothes for many reasons to ensure protection and care. Remember while sharing someone's clothes is fun, make sure you treat them like they were your own!

What happens if my rental doesn’t fit?

If you have any questions about the sizing, reach out to Rotate. In the future, you will have the ability to chat with the Rotator to learn more about the item sizing. If you reach out to Rotate with in 12 hours of your rental arriving we will be able to offer you a refund for the rental.

What if I need to change or cancel my order?

If you need to make any changes to your rental please reach out to Rotate. If you need to cancel your rental, please email Rotate as well.

If you cancel within 36 hours of placing your rental you will be able to receive a full refund. If you cancel after 36 hours, you will only be able to receive a 50% refund.

I’m not in the US, can I rent?

Unfortunately, no. We only rent out items to those within in the US. *Manifesting*

What is a Rotator?

A Rotator is someone who lists their closet on Rotate to join in on the circular fashion mission. Rotators make money from their clothes without having to sell them and reduce their fashion foot print by sharing their clothes.

How do I list an item?

You can list an item once you create an account with Rotate. Simply navigate to the list button once logged in and it will take you to your virtual closet to allow you to list items. We accept all clothes over $50.

How much money do I make?

Rotate will make suggestions based on market research for your listing price. Ultimately, you get to set the final listing price! Our top Rotators make hundreds renting their items out on Rotate every month.

How much commission do you take?

We keep ~20% of the listing price to keep Rotate running for your continued use.

How do I get paid?

Once the renter receives the item, we release the money to your Rotate account within 3 days of delivery. You can withdraw the money via direct deposit to your bank account.

What happens if my clothes are damaged or not returned?

In short, your clothes are covered. If the item needs to be dry cleaned due to a stain, the renter will be responsible for paying you that fee. To get reimbursed, send Rotate the dry cleaning receipt via email and we will resolve the issue. In the case of major damages or non returns, you are compensated up to the market value of your item.

How long is a rental period?

The Rotate rental period is a minimum of 2 weeks, and maximum of 6 weeks. An item's price increases incrementally for each additional week.

I'm a brand, can I lend?

Yes! We'd love to help make your company more circular. Simply reach out to Rotate to get started.

I’m not in the US, can I be a Rotator?

Currently, we are only operating in the U.S. We hope to expand internationally.

What do I do if my item comes back damaged?

If your items come back damaged the first thing you should do is report an issue in the order details page in your app. Or email help@rotateyourcloset.co with an image of the damaged item.

Do I pay for shipping?

As a Rotator, you don’t need to pay for shipping. This will be covered by the Renter. We will also provide you return labels on all shipped orders.

How does cleaning work?

We ask that Rotators clean their items to avoid accidental damages that often occur in the cleaning of clothes. This way, you have full control over how your items are cleaned, or if they need to be cleaned at all. You can factor in dry cleaning costs to your listing price if you wish.

What happens if I don’t ship my rental on time?

We will assess each late rental on a case by case basis. If the rental is received after the start date, it is likely you will receive reduced earnings based on how late the item is. If the item is late due to shipping services, you will still collect your complete earnings.

What if I need help with taking pictures of my closet?

If you are in Boston or LA, Rotate can help you photograph your closet for $25. Email info@rotateyourcloset.co if interested. If you don’t have any pictures of you in your clothes, we recommend hanging them on the back of the door and taking a picture or a mirror selfie. We will not take images from other sites due to copyright reasons.

Can you manage my closet for me?

We do not store any items for Rotators. If you need help listing your closet, you can pay Rotate $5 per item up to 20 pieces to list your items for you plus a small shipping fee. Simply send an email and Rotate will send you a shipping label to send your items to our team to list or pick up if you are in Boston or LA.

SHIPPING AND DELIVERY

How do I return my rental?

Once your rental end date has arrived, use the shipping label and saved packaging to return the items. Make sure to initiate the return on or before the rental end date to avoid late fees. Once you have shipped your rental back, make sure to press the "mark as shipped" button in your order details page to let Rotate + the Rotator know the item is on its way back.

Do I have to clean the item before I return it?

The renter should not clean the garment. The Rotator is responsible for cleaning its clothes. Remember while sharing someone's clothes is fun, make sure you treat them like they were your own!

What happens if return my rental late?

If you don't ship your rental within 3 days of the rental period ending, you will be charged $10 every day until the item is returned. Make sure to press the "Mark as Returned" button on the order details page when you have shipped your item. If you reach the 14 day period, the Renter pays up to the market value of the item. This value is determined by the Rotate team and whatever resolution Rotate comes to will be binding.

What happens if I don’t return my rental?

In the event you do not return your rental or do not return it before 14 days after the rental period has ended the Renter pays up to the market value of the item. This value is determined by the Rotate team and whatever resolution Rotate comes to will be binding.

What do I do if I misplaced the return label?

In your account, you can find all of the details in 'my rentals' section of the app. Within the details page for the specific rental, you will be able to re-download your return label.

What do I do if I misplaced the return packaging?

Feel free to use whatever packaging you have. Remember, if the item gets damaged in transit you will be responsible for any costs associated.

What if my rental ends on a Sunday or holiday and USPS is closed?

You have three days within the rental period ending to ship or return your rental before late fees begin to apply. Make sure to send Rotate an email through the app to let them know if you have any issues with the return.

Who pays for shipping?

Renters will cover all shipping costs. We will also provide you return labels on all shipped orders.

How much does shipping cost?

It depends on where you are located! Shipping cost will calculate for your during checkout once you have added your shipping address. Typically it won't exceed $16 round trip!
